World T’ai Chi & Qigong Day Local Observance
On April 27, T’ai Chi & Qigong Day is celebrated by people worldwide, and the Franciscan Renewal Center, in Scottsdale has activities planned from 9:30 a.m. to noon.
Instructors from around the Valley will lead students and visiting participants in various forms of t’ai chi and qigong. Those interested in attending should bring water, sun protection and a folding chair. Don and Victoria Fiore, of Ahwatukee, will act as host, hostess and emcees.
The purpose of this celebration is to appeal for world peace and to share and promote the health benefits of t’ai chi and qigong practice. These exercises that evolved over thousands of years in China are being used in hospitals, colleges, fitness centers, senior communities, businesses, prisons and as a part of many health programs.
