New Meditation Center Open House
A Mindfulness Life Center is holding a grand opening event from noon to 5 p.m., May 31 and June 1, in Scottsdale, with refreshments, prize drawings, and a buy-one-get-one-free membership for $99. The Center’s mission is inspired by the work of John Kabat Zinn, who opened a Mindfulness Center at the University of Massachusetts Medical Center and created a program called Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) 35 years ago.
A Mindfulness Life Center will offer community meditation once a week at no charge and all are welcome. Members will have the ability to participate in mindfulness classes and workshops, along with group discussions, book study groups, yoga, massage, private coaching and counseling and social events.
Many people in the community have no idea how to reduce stress in their life. MBSR has been scientifically proven to benefit people from all walks of life with less depression, fewer negative emotional thoughts and improved health and brain function. A Mindfulness Life Center will employ trained and certified practitioners, along with others involved in the healing arts.
