SWIHA Offers a Massage Therapy Win/Win
The Southwest Institute of Healing Arts (SWIHA) offers two comprehensive massage diploma programs at its Tempe campus, and both exceed the 700-hour requirements for massage therapy training in Arizona. Choose from either the 750-hour Professional Massage Practitioner program or the 1,000-hour Master Massage Practitioner program. Graduates of either program will be eligible to apply for licensure and well prepared to pass the national certification exam if they choose to do so.
Professional massage therapists know there is a sweet trade-off when they apply their skills. Many say they receive the healing benefits of the massage they are giving. Suzie McLaughlin, LMT, and longtime Massage Therapy Program instructor at SWIHA says, “People are always happy to see you! One of the great secrets we have in massage therapy is that while we are giving massage to our clients, we match their relaxation levels, so giving a massage is much like having a meditation.” Also, healthcare providers are increasingly incorporating massage therapy for cancer patients, fibromyalgia and many types of disorders into treatment.
Classes in SWIHA’s Massage Therapy Program begin in June, August and September. For more information, visit swiha.edu.
