Throughout history, honey has been seen as incredibly useful in many different ways—and not just by bringing a little sweetness to our lives. Honey draws moisture from the environment, so when spread over wounds, from minor to major, it can dehydrate bacteria, which in turn speeds up healing.
According to the Asian Pacific Journal of Tropical Biomedicine article “Honey: Its Medicinal Property and Antibacterial Activity,” honey is also packed full of antimicrobials, which prevent the spreading of infection.
